Whynot Adventure specializes in providing exceptional wilderness experiences.

Forget stuffy regimented Adventurous Journeys run like military boot camps. We offer something different. We build our trips on a simple philosophy- if you enjoy it, you’ll want to do it again. That’s what we strive for; to give you the tools so you and your friends can undertake a canoe trip confidently after doing your Adventurous Journey with us.

Plus, you’ll eat well, like kings and queens, actually. We don’t serve mac’n cheese, or ramen noodles just because you’re kids. You’ll eat good healthy food, just like anyone else. Imagine hot cinnamon buns in the morning with breakfast, or making a pasta sauce from scratch which is then devoured with hot garlic bread off the fire. It’s that good. Oh, and you might even get some s’mores after dinner!

We’ll hook you up with all the equipment you need, at no extra charge. This means if you don’t have a sleeping bag, or aren’t sure yours will be warm enough, we’ll provide you with one of ours (with a freshly laundered organic cotton liner). That goes for anything else, too, like a compass, or a dry bag for your personal items.

We can provide practice journeys, as well as Bronze, Silver and Gold Adventurous Journeys. You can tackle your Practice Journey in tandem with your Adventurous Journey, an extra day must be added between the Practice and Adventurous Journey's to comply with Duke of Edinburg Canada regulations.

For example, a Silver Adventurous Journey must span three calendar days, including two nights. A Silver Practice Journey must span two calendar days, including one night. To tackle both the Silver Practice Journey and Adventurous Journey in one trip, you would need to commit to four nights spanning five consecutive calendar days. Whoa, what a trip!

Reserve your Duke expedition with us now for an unforgettable summer adventure!

A few of the latest testimonials from our Duke of Ed trips!

"Duke of Ed Trip- Truly an amazing trip to remember !" Our 17 year old went on the 4 day duke of ed Canoeing Expedition - led by Cody - into the Tobeatic Wilderness. She could not say enough good things about it - and she is hard to please. She LOVED the food - tried all kinds of new things. She says Food and Air tastes better. Apparently Cody is a wonderful cook. She felt safe, learned to paddle ( apparently they travelled over 90 km ) portaged, felt included in the group and generally felt "revived and ready ". So happy for her . A very well organized event with an expert packer and traveller... the best experience ever !

"A Great Trip" I chose to do my gold duke of Edinburgh award expedition with Whynot Adventure, and I could not be more pleased with my choice. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the scenery was amazing. I will remember my trip for the rest of my life, and if I had to do it again, I would not change a thing!

Great canoe trip! Whynot Adventure has very professional, friendly and helpful staff. My daughter had a terrific experience on a canoe trip for her Duke of Edinburgh's gold adventurous journey award -- she is still raving about how fantastic the food was that Cody prepared out in the park! Thanks to Cody, Carlene (and the nice visiting Icelandic couple!) for a great experience for my daughter.
