General Reservations and Cancellation Policy

Definitions

General reservations are defined as all transactions made with Whynot Adventure, excluding Group Reservations and Multi-day Tours (tours scheduled for a period spanning more than one calendar day), or group reservations (as defined below). Adults are defined as people 19 years of age or older on the date the rental is planned to start. Minors are defined as people who are younger than 19 years of age on the date the rental is planned to start. Rental equipment is defined as all equipment rented from Whynot Adventure, whether or not a fee was charged for the use.

IMPORTANT: Whynot Adventure is a rain or shine company. We operate tours and rentals during rain. Yes, even heavy rain!

General Reservations

    1. All advance reservations are made through our website. Reservations can not be made over the phone.
    2. To make a reservation for rental equipment, please be prepared to submit the following details:
        • Quantity of rental items required (example: 2 canoes)
        • Number of people in party (adults and minors)
        • Rental start date and rental end date
        • Rental start time and end time
        • Name in full
        • Home address
        • License pate (aka vehicle tag, number plate)
        • Email address and a cell phone number
        • Campsite information, if staying in Kejimkujik National Park
        • Credit card details for payment processing
    3. All reservations require payment in full at the time of booking
    4. An email will be sent out following payment, to confirm your reservation
    5. All participants must subsequently complete a Release of Liability Waiver. The completion of this document is mandatory prior to use of Whynot Adventure equipment or services. Minors must have their Release of Liability Waiver completed by a parent or legal guardian (this can be done in advance through our website)
    6. Equipment can not be shared amongst large groups. We will only accept one waiver for each seat in the boat. Exceptions will be made for children, within reason.

Payment - General Reservations

    • For walk-in rentals, payment in full is due at the window with a Whynot Adventure Rental Tech to secure the equipment for your rental.
    • For advance reservations, payment in full is due when completing the reservation through the website.
    • Equipment will not be secured/guaranteed until payment is completed

Cancellations - General Reservations including Quickie Tours

    • Full cancellations submitted before 11am the day prior to the reservation start date will receive a refund for their booking, less a $25 cancellation fee and less the 4.8% non-refundable transaction fee charged at the time of the reservation
    • Partial cancellations, such as dropping equipment from your reservation (for example, decreasing your original canoe reservation from 3 boats to 2 boats) or dropping participants from your Quickie Tour will incur a $10 alteration fee for changes requested before 11am the day prior to the reservation start date. Any refund offered will be less the $10 alteration fee and less the 4.8% non refundable transaction fee charged at the time of reservation.
    • All cancellations and/or alterations made after 11am the day prior to the reservation start date are not eligible for a refund or credit.
    • ‘No-Shows’ are not eligible for a refund.
    • Re-scheduling your reservation within the same season is possible, however we limit this tactic to once per reservation per season. 'No-show's' will not be eligible for a rebooking. This 'get out of jail' card can not be played for cancelling same-day shuttles.

Groups Reservations and Cancellation Policy

Definitions

Group Reservations are defined as a reservation made for four or more boats or bicycles, or a reservation where 8 or more persons are involved. Group Reservations also include any reservation where the party has benefited, or has been provided a quote benefiting from a discounted invoice due to size of party, or an affiliation with a third party or organization.

Group Reservations

    1. All advance reservations are made through our website. Reservations can not be made over the
    2. phone.
    3. To make a reservation for a Group Reservations involving rental equipment, please be prepared to submit the following details:
        • Quantity of rental items required (example: 4 canoes)
        • Number of people in party (adults and minors)
        • Rental start date and rental end date
        • Rental start time and end time
        • Name in full
        • Home address
        • License pate (aka vehicle tag, number plate)
        • Email address and a cell phone number
        • Campsite information, if staying in Kejimkujik National Park
        • Credit card details for payment processing

Payment - Group Reservations

    • All Group Reservations require payment in full at time of booking. Payment must be made with a valid credit card, including an expiry date and a 3-digit verification code.
    • The reservation will not be secured until payment in full is made.

Group Reservations Cancellation Policy

    • Full cancellations of Group Reservations submitted outside of 10 days prior to the reservation start date will receive a refund for their booking, less a $50 cancellation and less the 4.8% non-refundable transaction fee charged at the time of the reservation
    • Partial cancellations, such as dropping equipment from your reservation (for example, decreasing your original canoe reservation from 4 boats to 3 boats) will incur a $25 alteration fee for changes requested outside of 10 days prior to the reservation start date. Any refund offered will be less the $25 alteration fee and less the 4.8% non refundable transaction fee charged at the time of reservation.
    • All cancellations and/or alterations of Group Reservations submitted within 10 days prior to the reservation start date are not eligible for a refund.
    • ‘No-shows’ are not eligible for a refund
    • Re-scheduling your reservation within the same season may be possible, however we limit this tactic to once per reservation per season, and is subject to availability. 'No-show's' will not be eligible for a rebooking.

Multi-day Tours Cancellation Policy

Definitions

Multi-day tour reservations include any reservations made for multi-day guided tours scheduled for a period spanning more than one calendar day.

Multi-day Tour Reservations

    1. All Multi-day Tour reservations are made through our website. Reservations can not be made over the phone, however we can guide you through the process via a phone conversation, if you like.
    2. To make a reservation for a Multi-Day Tour, please be prepared to submit the following details:
        • Number of people in party (adults and minors)
        • Tour start date
        • Name(s) in full
        • Home address
        • Email address and a cell phone number
        • Dietary preferences or restrictions (allergies, vegetarian, pescatarian, Celiac et cetera)
        • Relevant health related details
        • Credit card details for payment processing
        • Guest Details Document
        • Release of Liability Waiver
  1. All Multi-day Tour reservations require a 50% deposit at the time of booking
  2. Final payment is due 30 days prior to tour start date.
  3. An email will be sent out following payment, to confirm your reservation, receipt of payment and to provide a link to our Release of Liability Waiver and Guest Details documents for completion.
  4. All participants must complete a Release of Liability Waiver and Guest Details document. The completion of these documents is mandatory prior to use of Whynot Adventure equipment or services. Minors must have their Release of Liability Waiver completed by a parent or legal guardian.
  5. A payment reminder email will be sent to you 31 days prior to your start date; you may complete your payment yourself, or it will be charged automatically.

Payment - Multi-day Tour Reservations

    • All Group Booking and Multi-day tour reservations require payment in full at time of booking. Payment must be made with a valid credit card, including an expiry date and a 3-digit verification code.
    • The reservation will not be secured until the 50% deposit is received

Multi-day Tour Cancellation Policy

    • Full cancellations of Multi-day Tours submitted outside of 30 days prior to the tour start date will receive a refund for their booking, less a $150 cancellation fee and less the 4.8% non-refundable transaction fee charged at the time of the reservation
    • Partial cancellations, such as dropping a participant from your tour will incur a $150 alteration fee for changes requested outside of 30 days prior to the tour start date. Any refund offered will be less the $150 alteration fee and less the 4.8% non refundable transaction fee charged at the time of reservation.
    • All cancellations and/or alterations of Multi-day Tours submitted within 30 days prior to the reservation start date are not eligible for a refund.
    • ‘No-shows’ are not eligible for a refund
    • Re-scheduling your tour reservation within the same season may be possible, however we limit this tactic to once per reservation per season, and is subject to availability. 'No-show's' will not be eligible for a rebooking.
